We are the leading industrial rope access training provider in Canada. CRAS offers SPRAT and IRATA training as well as dual SPRAT/IRATA rope access certification courses which can be completed in one week. All courses are taught by dual SPRAT and IRATA certified level 3 technicians. Our 4 day program will prepare students for their rigorous certification assessment, which is conducted by an independent assessor on the fifth day. Independent assessments are mandatory for students seeking certification. These assessments are hosted and facilitated by CRAS at our facility on the last day of the course. Course prices include assessment and registration fees for your first assessment. Please note that students who fail their assessment will be presented an opportunity to reattempt the test at a later date, however additional charges will apply.
We’ve trained over 1000 rope access technicians over the last 5 years. Our knowledgeable level 3 trainers are amongst the most experienced in the industry. They have logged thousands of hours of field experience working at height, and have assisted hundreds of students on their paths to rope access certification. Our full-time dedicated training facilities in North Vancouver and Montreal have a variety of structures which allow students to train for a wide range of work at height situations.
CRAS also offers the option of dual SPRAT/IRATA certification courses which can be completed in one week. Dual certification assessments are extremely physically and mentally challenging and are generally only recommended for students from appropriate backgrounds.
Students wishing to upgrade their certification will be required to present a properly completed logbook prior to the start of the course, and on assessment day.
All rope access training comes with Optional Free Fall Protection Training and Certification
Which Rope Access Standard to Choose?
“IRATA Training, or SPRAT Training? What’s the difference?”
Why choose when you don’t have to, Dual IRATA/SPRAT certification is available!
Both SPRAT and IRATA are trade associations or professional organizations dedicated to the development of industry-consensus standards related to rope access methodology and safety. Both organizations set out similar methods and standards for training and work at height.
IRATA, the Industrial Rope Access Trade Association, was formed in the UK in the late 1980’s, to solve maintenance problems in the offshore oil and gas industry. IRATA has over 200 member companies and 40000 technicians registered in over fifty countries across every continent on earth.
SPRAT was established in the mid 90’s to address the needs of a growing number of companies and operators employing rope access techniques in North America. Since 2001, thousands of rope access technicians representing dozens of companies and government agencies have been certified to this standard.IRATA vs SPRAT
