Canadian Rope Access Specialists is the leading SPRAT training provider in the country. We have trained over a hundred technicians every year for the last several years. Our knowledgeable level 3 trainers are amongst the most knowledgeable in the industry. Our instructors have thousands of hours of field experience and have assisted hundreds of students on their paths to SPRAT and IRATA certification. Our full-time dedicated training facility has a variety of structures which allow students to train for a wide range of industrial situations. Between the custom made steel platforms, aluminum box truss towers, aid climbing anchors and potential rigging across the facility; we believe that we offer one of the best indoor rope access training environment in Canada. CRAS Inc. offers all levels of SPRAT and IRATA rope access training, in accordance with guidelines set out by each organization. All courses are instructed by qualified level 3 IRATA technicians. Our 4 day rope access training course will prepare students for their rigorous certification assessment, which is conducted by an independent IRATA or SPRAT assessor on the fifth day. Independent assessments are mandatory for students seeking IRATA or SPRAT certification. These assessments are hosted and facilitated by CRAS at our facility in North Vancouver on the last day of the course. Course prices include assessment and registration fees for your first assessment. Please note that students who fail their rope access assessment will be presented an opportunity to reattempt the test at a later date, however additional charges will apply. CRAS Inc. also offers the option of dual IRATA/SPRAT certification courses, which can be completed in one week. These courses are extremely physically and mentally challenging and they are generally only recommended for students with a strong background.
This comprehensive 4 day – program covers general safety, safety planning, industrial fall-protection, tower climbing techniques & tower rescue techniques. Our tower climbing training program is intended for experienced tower climbers or new personnel working in the structure climbing, tower climbing or wireless industries. This course is targeted at the growing wireless infrastructure industry, in order to meet their demand for trained and competent workers, but it can also be tailored to your specific work at heights application.
Tower Climbing and Rescue Training
Course Duration: 4 Days, Approximately 32 hours Ticket expiration: 3 years, with minimum annual rescue refresher training. Upon successful completion of our tower climbing training course students will have the necessary skills and certification to work on tower sites and at heights, under competent supervision. Students will learn PPE selection, inspection and use, pre-task safety planning, fall protection, rigging and tower rescue techniques. Students are taught advanced practical access and basic companion rescue, and are also able to assist in more complex rescues. Students are trained to establish and operate access lifelines and rescue systems to mitigate their personal exposure by limiting fall potential and by taking advantage of self-rescue techniques. Intermediate rope skills training includes termination knots, anchorage and advanced rigging and load hauling techniques, all focusing on safe access and rigging practices.

Our introductory 8 hour fall-protection course is intended to instruct students on the legislation, worker rights and real safety hazards surrounding work at height. Taught by experienced work at height professionals, this fall protection program ensures your staff are adequately trained to identify and control fall hazards in your workplace. It is also designed to introduce students to a variety of equipment and techniques used to work at height safely. The curriculum covers a wide variety of work at height situations, and a balance of classroom theory and practical skills. Students will be allowed to practice with fall protection equipment in a controlled environment, under the supervision of experienced work at height professionals.
